Harvest is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the importance of community, generosity, and looking out for one another.
It is easy to take for granted the simple things we enjoy every day like having food in the cupboard, sitting down to a warm meal with our families, and knowing that there will be something on the table at the end of the day. At this time of year, as the weather gets colder, these everyday comforts can mean even more to those who may be struggling.
Our harvest donation is being made through our local school, who kindly donate to Whitchurch Foodbank. By donating food and essential items, we can help support local individuals and families who may be facing difficult times, ensuring that they have access to food and other essentials when they need them most.

This year, we also decided to make a monetary donation directly to Whitchurch Foodbank, helping to support their wonderful More Than Food programme. The foodbank recognises that food is only part of the solution and provides additional support to help people address some of the underlying issues behind a crisis. This includes initiatives such as Eat Well, Spend Less – a six-week course covering basic cookery, nutrition and budget management. We are proud to support work that goes beyond providing an emergency food parcel and helps people build confidence and skills for the future.
As a business, we believe being part of a community means more than just being based within it. We are passionate about supporting the people and communities around us and doing our part to make a positive difference. Giving back is at the heart of who we are, and opportunities like our annual harvest donation allow us to put those values into action.
A special shout-out to Pat, Deputy Store Manager at Lidl Whitchurch, who made the process seamless and was a pleasure to work with in store. Thank you for your help!
Serving our community is not just about what we give it is about coming together, sharing what we can, and creating a culture of kindness and care.
